About the Artist Tanja Bos has lived in Washington, DC since 1989, but is originally from the Netherlands. She received her BFA from the Corcoran College of Art and Design and has an MFA from the University of the Arts. Tanja was surrounded by art when growing up in Europe, influenced by her mother who is a painter and sculptor and still resides in the Netherlands. She grew up watching her mother work in her studio. Tanja's studio is in her Washington, DC home. She has recently shown her works in Gallery Plan b and Ground Floor Gallery in Washington, DC. Her medium is oil paint on small and large scale canvases. “I strive to achieve a mood in my paintings, a captured moment, and play between abstraction and a more defined visual.
